Marmon-Herrington CTLS-4TAY

Light Tank designed by Marmon-Herrington with the intention of providing a light armoured support tank for the US marine corps. The vehicle's 3 machine guns speaks to the inter-war tank philosophy in the USA.

This TAY variant has the turret on the left of the hull with the driver's position on the right, limiting the turret arc of traverse. To counter this issue a TAC version with the positions swapped was also manufactured, the plan being to have pairs which could cover thier twin's blindspot.

Mostly obsolete by the time it was produced the tank was sold to the dutch KNIL forces in the Dutch East Indies. Around 25 tanks reached the KNIL, though the Japanese capture of Indonesia
ment that later shippments were diverted to Australia serving as a driver training vehicle.

CTLS tanks remaining in the US were designated T16 and used for garrison tanks in the Alaskan Aleutian islands.

Suitable for Dutch forces in the Dutch east-Indies.
